All network audio streaming adds latency. SoundFling's delay is typically 1–3 seconds. It is perfect for music and podcasts, but not suited for lip-synced video like films or games.
Yes. SoundFling works with every Sonos model, including older S1 speakers like the Play:1, Play:3, Play:5, Playbar and Connect that Apple AirPlay cannot reach.
No. Everything stays on your local network. The audio never leaves your home, and SoundFling does not use a cloud service or require an account.
New apps from smaller publishers are sometimes flagged automatically until they build reputation. The installer is safe and signed. You can verify the SHA-256 checksum on the Download page, then choose Keep or Run anyway.
Run through this checklist: (1) your PC and speakers are on the same network, (2) any VPN is switched off, (3) the firewall allows SoundFling, and (4) power-cycle the speaker for 10 seconds and press Refresh.
The speaker may be wifi-stuck. Power-cycle the speaker AND restart the access point it is connected to. Some access points — for example older Ubiquiti UniFi models — forward speaker-to-speaker traffic but drop PC-to-speaker traffic, which hides the speaker from SoundFling.
Selected speakers are grouped automatically and play in sync. You can adjust each speaker's volume individually from the tray, or ride the group level for all rooms at once.
One lifetime license is valid on 2 PCs. If you replace a computer you can deactivate the old one and activate the new one.
